NCAA 11 Impressions from Our Forums
Impressions are rolling in on our forums from those lucky enough to have already secured a copy of NCAA Football 11. Drop in and see what others are saying. And come back Tuesday and share your own.
Winged Helmet:
I was losing most of the game, so I couldn’t delve into it fully, but running from the shotgun seemed hard. Perhaps it has to do with Georgia’s impact DE that I was playing against, but I failed to execute a single read option. I think a lot of it had to do with my lack of patience; even on different running plays I felt like I outran my blockers and was kicking myself after gaining three on what should have been 15.
Really, REALLY like that the QB has to wind up on deep passes.
lounger:
Won 35-14 got 262 yards on the ground on 49 carries. The WB misdirection is a nice play. Also not sure if this was in last years flexbone book or not but there was a WB dive play where the WB goes in motion as normal but at the snap takes a handoff up the middle with the A-back lead blocking. The trap option seemed better to me at least. Had a nice one where the guard got around kicked out the outside linebacker and I was able to cut it up with Nesbit for about 10 yards.
Had a few where I should have kept it when the end crashed down and took out the FB for little to no gain. Seeing the assignment blocking is nice pre-play on those options. ON regualr runs where the defense was shifting I kept the blocking assignments up and you could see them changing as a saftey crept up or moved out of the box.
Again it was just one game but Georgia was chucking it deep quite a bit. I was able to play some good defense and they finished 11-30 passing.

Pros:
- I think I’m really going to enjoy the new recruiting interface. It adds some elements of surprise and strategy that elevate it above the mindlessness of the previous versions.
- I like the new dynasty UI, it’s easier to get around and it makes more sense.
- I haven’t seen anything that appears to be severely out of step with reality in the states, but I’ve only simmed two seasons.
