NCAA Football 12 Wish List - Dynasty Mode

Early thoughts on NCAA 11 dynasty -
Recruiting
- First the good. Somehow EA managed to very much reinvigorate what was really becoming a tired recruiting system by adding (or at least making visible to the player) the point system and by allowing for adjustable difficulty levels. It's been tough adjusting from the luxury that earlier iterations offered players, but I think recruiting is much more realistic this time around.
- Also good (albeit early) impression is that the AI controlled teams seem much better at recruiting to their systems. I haven't heard any reports of GT in 2016 having a roster of slow QBs and still trying to run the triple option, for instance.
- Now areas for improvement. First, and this is a holdover from NCAA 10, the whole "top flight recruits appearing out of nowhere a month before signing day" feature is just as ill-conceived and unjustifiable as it was previously. I can't make it any nicer than that. This should not exist in the game, period. If you're trying to replicate the fluidity of the ratings process for recruits, then allow for some variation in recruit ratings every few weeks (ie every 3-4 weeks during the season, the recruiting service 're-evaluates' the recruits and the rankings change based on that) and you can also sprinkle in new players throughout the season. But having 5 and 4 star players just appear out of the blue in what is essentially January is just nonsense. It doesn't happen.
- A rather small thing, but it would be helpful, is if the player's scouting stats (40 time, bench, squat, etc) would show up on the recruiting board. It would just save me the trouble of having to go back to the "All Prospects" list to find the guys and/or trying to translate their letter ratings into numbers. The more information you can give me on a single screen, the more efficient (and thus less tedious) it's going to be.
- Another small thing, I wish there was a way to eliminate athletes from the search feature. I never used the feature much in the past, but the increased difficulty of recruiting necessitates a more intensive search for prospects, and so I've been using it a lot.
- This really is a "wish" type of thing, but if the focus for NCAA 12 turns to recruiting, I would REALLY appreciate the locations of recruits WITHIN THE STATE to start having an impact on their recruiting preferences. Take my Miami Hurricanes, for instance. To say our roster is built on Florida kids is really only partially true. In reality our roster is built on SOUTH Florida kids, and I wish there was a way that could be recreated in the game. In real life a kid from Jacksonville has just about no chance of going to Miami, for instance, while in the game a recruit from Jacksonville considers FSU, Florida, and Miami to all be on even footing in that regard. Basically what I'm asking for is the states to be broken down even further.
- Another 'wish' type feature is to extend recruiting to Junior prospects as well. In real life many kids have already made their decisions by the time football season starts of their senior year (eg, look at all the Rivals 250 Recruits who have already committed and it's only July 17th: http://rivals.yahoo....ngs/rank-2602). So in the name of realism I wish the entire recruiting calendar could be pushed back (a la College Hoops) and expanded to include juniors as well.
Dynasty Features
- Dynasty mode, at least its offline iteration (more on this in a bit) went largely unchanged, and I have to say it's a bit disappointing. It's still solid, to be sure, but given the sheer number of people who invest so much time in this aspect of the game, I wish it had received a little more TLC.
- I've been belaboring this point ever since moving to the current-gen consoles, and I'll just keep at it. 2/3 of the College Football year is spent out of season! Training camp, spring practice, 7-on-7, summer workouts. These are not trivial things, they are the building blocks of any program and any successful season. Dynasty mode should at least attempt to replicate the importance and commitment of the offseason work that players and coaches put in. Put the "training" points into the hands of the coach. Let me decide what skills I want my players to hone, let me run my team through spring drills (culminating in the spring game), give me a few intra-squad scrimmages before the season starts to work out the pre-season kinks or implement a new playbook. The offseason in NCAA gets the short end of the stick big time, and it leads to an unbalanced experience, at least to people who understand the importance of the offseason to what happens once the games start.
- All right, as for online vs. offline dynasties. In theory a single player online dynasty and the features that come with it seemed great. In fact I believe I said that I would wet myself if it worked well. Well my undergarments are safe, because when I wasn't having server trouble I was getting annoyed at the incessant uploading and downloading that had to take place in order for me to get through a season of dynasty play. It was just too annoying to be worth the features.
- So, assuming that those issues are going to continue to plague efforts to have data for my dynasty archived online, I'll continue to ask for some kind of local archival feature that can keep track of my records, stats, awards, schedules, etc. Some kind of history for my dynasty to spare me the time it takes to do all that myself.
I'm sure I'll come up with more as the time goes on, but these are my early thoughts on how dynasty can/should be improved.
The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

Anyway to the point. This teambuilder ish needs to really get updated or it just needs to go away. We cant upgrade to multiple uniforms or more than 4 jerseys, 2 pants, 2 helmets, 2 socks and 2 shoes. At least when we created teams on the game itself we had a little more options.
Create a stadium. We have been asking (exscuse me WISHING) for a while. Since i believe the game came to playstation 3.
Pride Stickers. WHY DONT WE HAVE THIS YET????????? Why cant it be added to teambuilder?????? That's another that's been on this forum in wish list for the last couple years. I mean if i cant be added to teambuilder then at least put some on the game itself so it can be apart of a teams options.
COME ON EA. WE NOT ASKING FOR MUCH. Just a little more college football feel.

Dynasty- The ability to increase your prestige level by adding new stuff to your stadium
Road To Glory- Have teams throw some pitches at you to try to get you to come to there college, Campus Visits, Signing Day, Spring Training/Game, 7on7, Interact around campus, Ability to switch jerseys for important games, The ability to move around the depth chart and finally if you don't really like the school your at, transferring
Last, Bring Back Stadium Pulse

-Custom Playbooks
A neccesity that is long overdue. I want to be able to use shotgun and flexbone in the same book.
-Continue Dynasty
I hate having to end my dynasty when the new game comes out. It would be great if I could continue my dynasty from one year to the next
-Yearbook
Similar to NCAA Basketball '10, I would love if EA implemented the yearbook feature that would keep track of records, awards, recruiting classes, etc.
-Unique Player Animations
I would like to see different player animations. Player A does not run the same as Player B
-More players on roster
-In game season commentary
I would love for Brad and Kirk to discuss what is going on in my season (conference standings with bowl implications, etc)
-Better Crowd
Correct colors in crowd, such as Purdue's crowd is white and needs to be black, the crowd needs to not look like cardboard, and needs to react better to a play, like when the RB hits the hole, the reaction while a pass is in the air. A 100,000 seat stadium should not sound the same as a 10,000 seat stadium.
Also, the chants need redone.
-Home and home/Neutral site games
-Coaching Carosel
A must for dynasty next year. Have coaches take their style with them, and also have O and D coordinators
-Create A Stadium
-Team Celebrations
I like the addition of being able to celebrate with a teammate, but after a big TD, the whole offense should congratulate the player.

You can. It just takes some busy work on your part. Enter your 2010 team into TeamBuilder and then import it into 2011 we had a few guys from or 2010 OD do this. Works like a charm.

Custom Schedules
1.)Being able to schedule anyone you want in any week. Let's say I have Troy on my schedule and I want to also play Auburn. Sometimes it wont let me play those teams together, but if I schedule somebody else like let's say WKU, it will let me, but then it wont let me play Troy.
2.)Re-arranging Conference games. Let's say I'm Clemson and over the years of a dynasty, Boston College becomes a big game each year that could decide the Atlantic Division. Every year the game is in the first few weeks of the season. I would like to be able to re-arrange the game to be late in the season. This also goes for other late season games. The FSU game is always late in the season. Maybe I want to open the season against them like 2007.
3.)Set times and dates for games. This is my most wanted thing. Maybe have a little ticker to scroll (up/down) through times (12:00,1:00,2:00,3:30,4:30,5:00,6:00,7:30,8:00,10:00) and dates (Sunday-Saturday). Maybe I want a Thursday night matchup against a big rival late in the season at 7:30. Or maybe I want a labor day matchup. This includes 3 of the inevations so far.
4.)Specifications for games. I would like to be able to set Homecoming, Family Weekend, Military Appreciation Day/Night, All-(Primary or Secondary Color) Day/Night, Donors Day/Night, etc. The last home game would also automatically be set for Senior Day/Night. This would help bring in more fans and really help with recruiting. A recruit would have a much better grade rating if you brought him in for a Thursday night matchup at 8:00 with a big rival on Homecoming than say a 12:00 matchup with FCS East on Family Weekend.
5.)Neutral Site games. You guys know this and have seen this posted so I wont go into big detail. You guys don't even have to change up the field art. Just have one of those scrolling tickers like the ones I already talked about to let you scroll through all the stadiums in the game.
I hope the developers take note of these. I thank you if you guys do.

I wish they'd figure someway for you to be able to save game results to your hard drive when their servers are down!
It's frustrating when you play a OD game get the win and it says "The EA servers are not available at this time . Please try again later" Then it gives you the option to "Abandon game results" why in the HELL would I want to abandon the game results and have to play a game I won all over again?

I also think there should be an AD mode similar to Maddens "owner mode" which would allow for studium upgrades and renovations and deffinetly a uniform updater. I don't like doing a dynasty with Oregon and seeing the same unis ten years down the road.
Oh and in custom conferences it be sweet to be able to add and take teams to and from a conference

You'll never see the real stadiums and uniforms getting changed. The universities will never allow that.

Two things I don't agree with, though, are the HS juniors recruiting and the caliber of the players changing.
Both shouldn't be in the game just because of the extra headaches they would cause.
Recruiting takes long enough without recruiting two classes at the same time, and I have a hard enough time learning my recruits' names as it is.
I think the caliber of players changing would just be annoying.
